Please help us help others because so many need this knowledge
In an age and culture of hurry up and wait, stress is a way of life. When stress causes or worsens AT LEAST 90% of all disease and injury, learning to deal with stress is a much needed skill. It may not be taught in schools, but it is necessary for survival. The "stressed- out" person tends to have what i call tunnel thinking, and only sees a problem with no solutions. Many a crime committed has been a "crime of passion". How many times have you "done something stupid" because you were frustrated?
The jails in the US serve the purpose of punishment. There is little, if any, rehabiliation involved in the jail sentence, or any training in thinking differenty. Some jails on have one counselor for all the inmates in the jail, even if that number is over a thousand. Usually In these cases, if the inmate doesn't have a drug problem, the inmate doesn't get any help at all. Since stress can cause frustration, pain and cloud thinking, teaching inmates how to lessen their stress levels will help to reduce the number of repeat offenders because they will learn to make better decisions.
Stress and Anger Management (or SAM , for short) classes have been taught effectively one on one, and in group sessions to various professions and walks of life ranging from inmates, their jailers, housewives, business excutives, and children.
Please join us! We are seeking givers of time and/or money to help us get Stress and Anger Managerment (SAM) programs into the jails and prisons. This is a much needed resource because the inmate number keeps raising and many are repeat offenders. Now is the perfect time.
Monies collected will go toward the following programs:
- teaching SAM workshops to inmates
- sending Stress Management 101 CDs to jails and prisons that allow that type of media
- sending DVDs of SAM class workshops to jails and prisons that allow that type of media
- sending books (scheduled to be released in October 2010) to same ( most will allow this one)
- training others to teach the classes so we can affect more people for the better
Volunteers needed:
- those wishing to assist or teach SAM classes
- those that are inmate program directors for a jail or prision, or know the contact info of one that is
- those that are willing to pass on the info to other interested parties
For those that contribute $10 or more, you will receive the download link for Stress Management 101 mp3s because we appreciate your support. Donations can be done online, mailed, made in person. Please contact Lynn at 940-383-5780 or lynn@dentonmassage.com for more information.
