Questions and Answers

Q . Do I have to get naked?

A . No, you only take off the clothing that will make you comfortable. For some, that means only taking off their socks. You are under the draping at all times; I only uncover what I'm working on.

Q . What technique do you use?

A . I do Swedish massage.

Q . What body parts do you massage?

A . I massage the head, neck, shoulders, arms, hands, back, legs, and feet. I also massage the buttocks, but it is done without removing the draping.

Q . I'm a teacher. Do I have to buy other massages to get the free one?

A . No, there are no strings attached to the community service appreciation. I set aside a certain number of massages a week for tithe. I believe in tithing time and talent, as well as money.

Q . Are you going to push me through the floor?

A . No. I use deep tissue techniques, not deep pressure. My goal is your total relaxation, and not making you sore following a massage session is part of that.

Q. What kind of massage do you do?

A. I do a full body (consisting of the neck, back, arms, hands, legs, feet, and the gluts are done with draping) Swedish massage using some trigger points designed to totally relax you.

Q. What is synergistic blend therapy?

A. Synergistic blend Therapy uses a blend of essential oils (thyme, oregano, basil, birch, cypress, majoram, and peppermint) diluted in sesame seed oil, on the back to induce tense muscles to release and relax.  WARNING: cannot be used on clients currently taking medication to DECREASE the immune system (ie. Transplant patients, etc).

Essential Oils and possible uses

Thyme is documented to be highly antimicrobial. This essential oil easily penetrates the skin and travels throughout the body.

Oregano has an antimicrobial action even more aggressive than thyme. It also has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antiviral properties.

Basil has antispasmodic properties that relax muscles. It is also anti-inflammatory and antibacterial.

Wintergreen/Birch are anti-inflammatory and analgesic (pain relieving) due to their high methyl salicylate content. These essential oils are excellent for bones.

Cypress improves circulation and relieves spasms and swelling. Cypress also helps heal damaged tissue.

Marjoram is antispasmodic and helps relax muscles.

Peppermint has pain killing properties. It is also antimicrobial, working synergistically with other oils to enhance their activity. Peppermint also stimulates circulation and cools inflamed tissue.
